Nine things were wrong with the set at 23:10. Seven of them the bank would have refused it for.
The invoice was built from the PO, not the amended credit. Last season’s HS code. A consignee the carrier filled in. A certificate dated the day before the ship sailed. None of it is clever, and between 56% and 75% of LC sets are refused for exactly this.
- checks, every field against the credit
- 22
- what a refusal usually costs
- EUR 90 + 4%
- of money held while it is argued
- 18 days
Every field in the set is editable. Break the HS code, change a date, fix the consignee: the twenty-two checks re-run as you type, here and on n8n.
SB checklist for approval · PO 4471 · SB to be filed 03-Nov
SI cut-off day. At 16:40 the CHA sends the shipping-bill checklist and the carrier sends the draft B/L, both "for approval by 18:00". Ravi has eighty minutes and nine other things to do.
- Commercial invoice, packing list, draft B/L
- The shipping bill filed on ICEGATE
- The LC text and its amendment history
- Do the three values agree, to the rupee?
- HS code against your master; cartons and quantities tie out
- Every LC field: amount, latest ship date, description, ports, partial shipment, document list
- The person assembling the set, with the exact mismatch named
- Your CHA, before the filing goes in
- You, if presentation is inside 48 hours and something is still open
Already out there, said honestly: ERPs generate the documents and trade platforms store them. Almost nothing affordable does a rule-based LC-versus-documents pre-check. This is the cleanest gap on the list.
